A deadly housewife who brutally chopped her husband to pieces last month was yesterday charged with murder and remanded to Luzira prison by Buganda Road Court.

Beastly –hearted Edisa Azaaba( pictured) appeared before H.W John Wekesa but the no-nonsense magistrate did not allow her take plea since her case was of capital nature, only to be tried by the High Court.

Stone-hearted Azaaba looked callous as she stood in the dock.
Prosecution alleges that on August 08, 2008 at Kisowera, Corner Zone, Bwaise in Kazo-Angola, Kawempe Division, Azaaba, 20, a Rwandan national brutally killed her husband, Kisitu Musezi, a jack fruit seller.

Azaaba shocked detectives to the marrow at Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala a few days during a charge and caution statement when she enthusiastically admitted that she killed her husband using a very sharp Machete at 2:00am in the night as they slept in their small ‘mazongoto’ bed.

“My hubby used to fight me every time I returned home late in the night accusing me of bonking with other men. He used to lock me inside the house so that I don’t give his Kandahar to others.

On the fateful day we fought but later had lunch and supper together,” Azaaba narrated to the awestruck detectives.

She added a shocker: “When I woke up at 2 am to ease myself I found a sharp machete which he used to chop jackfruits under our pillow. I immediately suspected he wanted to kill me.

So I decided to kill him first. I picked the dagger and cut him hard twice, deep in the neck as he screamed “Jesus!” When he tried to stand he fell down dead”.

Police arrested her later and brought her to court to face murder charges.

Was she always abused? Was this a real ”self defense”, if she was truely battered psychologically and physically, shouldn’t someone of helped her? Or was it a true cold blood?
