Uganda :

Around 25 -30% of the Ugandans still base on their heads and feet to look for what to eat, pay for school fees and the like. This is very true in rural areas like in Northern and Eastern parts of the country where women, young boys and girls carry goods from their homes on heads to the markets where they can access buyers. In these two country’s regions it’s where the economic situation is nearly beyond critical.

Uganda being one of the poorest countries in the world people, still can’t afford to buy Indian bicycles makes or wheel barrows to transport their produces to the market places. Moreover, commodities include pots from clay, papyrus reeds (mats), weaved basket (art and craft commodities) etc. Still the means of transport used to reach goods to people’s homes (house to house) selling especially in rural and urban areas.

Poor communication infrastructures have also contributed a lot to the development of this means of transport.

It is really unfortunate about what I read about the people of Uganda. May be Africa should work as an unit on the lines of EU to help the poor African nations as a whole since the problems these nations face are the same.
